Alice Privett is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music (MA and Opera Course) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (BMus Hons). Competition successes and awards include first prize in the Susan Longfield Award (2011), the Concert Recital Diploma from the Guildhall, first prize in the Royal Overseas League (2011) with the ensemble ‘Cries of London’ , winner of the Joan Chissel Schumann Prize at the Royal Academy of Music (2012), Jennifer Vyvyan Scholar (RAM, 2011), the Helen Clarke Award (2013) and the Leonard Ingrams Award (2014) from Garsington Opera, the Leon Fischbach Memorial Prize at the London Handel Competition, and finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards (2015).
Upcoming engagements include the the development of a new opera Bloom Brittania with Barefoot Opera, and cover of Donna Elvira Don Giovanni for Garsington Opera.

Alice has a keen interest in new music, and was awarded the Tracey Chadwell Memorial Prize by the GSMD for work in contemporary song. As well as continuing to premiere works by her contemporaries, her recitals include a solo performance of Berg and Schoenberg song at King’s Place, 'Songs for Sue' (Knussen) at the RAM with the Manson Ensemble, a selection of the Birtwhistle 'Niedecker' songs which were aired on BBC Radio 3 as part of the BBC proms, and Pierrot Lunaire at the Oxford Lieder Festival. Recent contemporary opera performances include the title roles in both Snow and Goldilocks (new commissions for The Opera Story).
She has extensive recital and oratorio experience, which include performances of Israel in Egypt with the Huddersfield Choral Society, Handel's Messiah (St Martin-in the Fields and Kings Place), Tippett's A Child of Our Time in Bath Abbey/Salisbury Cathedral, performances with the London Handel Festival, Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder at the Amersham Festival, and recitals with Sholto Kynoch as part of the Oxford Lieder Festival. She was also a regular Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata soloist at the Royal Academy.
